LAUK Lighting Ltd is a distributor of lighting products and it enjoys a national agreement with McDonald's to supply the lighting requirements for all of its 1,400 UK restaurants. The agreement comprises of the initial supply of lighting products followed by a five year site attendance warranty. The lighting products are used in the main restaurant, the kitchen and food preparation areas, store rooms, crew rest rooms, public and staff wash rooms and externally, the car park and building perimeter soffit under lighting.

LAUK has used the engineering services of Trade Signs since 2012 for both new installations such as car park lighting and in support of the warranty commitments for both internal and external lighting applications. Whilst all of the products use LED technology they are diverse and require a broad set of engineering skills to be used in a very demanding environment such as kitchen areas where disruption has to be minimal and restaurant areas where work has to be carried out safely and with respect to customers. An example of the type of maintenance work recently undertaken by Trade Signs would be earlier this month when a team of their engineers attended the McDonald's prestige restaurant in Leicester Square to carry out a complete re-fit of LED cove feature lighting in the basement restaurant together with replacing LED down lights and spot lights that had failed within warranty.
